Removal and installation of a head of cylinders

The petrol engine of 1.6 l ALZ

Head of cylinders. The petrol engine of 1.6 l ALZ

1 — the Cover
2 — Consolidation. At damage replace
3 — the Oil separator

6 — Consolidation. Necessarily replace

11 — the Sealing lining of a head of cylinders. Necessarily replace After lining replacement it is necessary to replace cooling liquid.
12 — the Head of cylinders
Check up presence of deformations. Admissible неплоскостность: 0.1 mm. After replacement of a head of cylinders it is necessary to replace cooling liquid. The minimum height after processing: 132.6 mm.

13 — the Bolt of fastening of a head of cylinders. Necessarily replace. Bolts Polydrive are turned out and rolled by tool AUDI-3452 or HAZET 2779-9. Observe sequence отворачивания and inhalings of bolts.
14 — the Sealing lining. At damage replace.
15 — the Cover of a head of cylinders
16 — the Bolt with the remote plug, 10Нм

The specified process demands certain experience presence. Therefore here the description only the most important instructions intended for the skilled mechanic is resulted.

The general instructions

Necessarily replace bolts of fastening of a head of the cylinders, self-stopped nuts, the bolts tightened динамометрическим by a key, and also sealing rings and linings.

If the replaceable head of cylinders before installation of a cover of a head of cylinders it is necessary to grease all contact surfaces between basic elements, roller levers and sliding surfaces of cams of a camshaft is established.

Plastic linings for protection of open valves are authorised to be deleted only before installation of a head of cylinders.

If the head of cylinders is replaced, it is necessary to replace cooling liquid.

Instructions on removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The head of cylinders acts in film only on the cold engine (not above a body temperature).
  2. Remove клиновой a belt and the tension device.
  3. Remove a gear belt, address to Section Removal and installation of a gear belt.
  4. The fuel system is under pressure! Before a detachment of hoses close connection by a thick rag. Then, cautiously turning on a hose, remove pressure.
  5. After opening топливопроводов close apertures to exclude hit in fuel system of a dirt.
  6. Remove the inlet pipeline.
  7. At removal of a reception pipe of system of release of the fulfilled gases watch that стыковочный the element in an exhaust pipe has not been bent more than on 10 °.
  8. Turn away bolts of fastening of a cover a head of cylinders cross-wise.
  1. Turn away bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders in sequence with 1 on 10 at first on a half-turn, and then in the same sequence completely.

Instructions on installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. In the presence of cracks between saddles of valves or between a saddle and a carving aperture under a candle the head of cylinders can be used further if the width of cracks does not exceed 0.3 mm or the first 4 coils of a carving are mentioned only.
  2. In deaf apertures under bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders in the block of cylinders presence of oil or a cooling liquid is not supposed. Remove oil or a liquid a rag and a screw-driver.
  3. New lining of a head of cylinders take out from packing only directly ahead of installation.
  4. Address with a sealing lining extremely cautiously. Lining damages lead to tightness loss.
  5. Cautiously clear sealing surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders. Thus watch that on surfaces there were no flutes or scratches of the big length (at emery paper application its granularity should not exceed 100 units).
  6. Carefully remove the emery paper rests.
  7. If the cranked shaft in the course of work has been turned - establish the piston of the first cylinder in position ВМТ and again turn a cranked shaft back a little, address to Section Removal and installation of a gear belt.
  8. Before installation to the place of a head of cylinders establish cranked and distributive shaft in position ВМТ of the first cylinder, address to Section Removal and installation of a gear belt.
  9. For centering insert into a forward external aperture for bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders directing оправку AUDI-3450/2А or HAZET 2571-5.

Before installation of a head of cylinders check up, it is possible to take out upwards directing оправку. If necessary, it is a little прошлифуйте a notch directing оправки.

  1. Establish a new sealing lining so that the inscription on it (spare parts) could be read number.
  2. Establish a head of cylinders, insert the remained 8 bolts of fastening and tighten them by hand.
  3. Turn out through apertures for a bolt directing оправку, rotating it to the left.
  4. Insert the remained 2 bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders and also tighten them by hand.
  1. Tighten bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders in sequence with 1 on 10 efforts resulted in Specifications.
  1. The further installation is carried out in sequence, return to removal.
  2. Establish into place a gear belt and adjust phases timing.
  3. Establish клиновой a belt and the tension device.
  4. Replace cooling liquid.

Petrol engines of 1.8 and 2.0 l

Head of cylinders. The petrol engine of 1.8 l

1 — the Sealing lining of a head of cylinders. At installation spare part number should show towards a head of cylinders. After lining replacement it is necessary to replace cooling liquid
2 — the Head of cylinders. After replacement it is necessary to replace cooling liquid. The minimum height: 139.20 mm.
3 — the Oil separator
4 — the Bolt of fastening of a head of cylinders
5 — the Cover of a head of cylinders
6 — the ignition Coil
7 — the Cover
8 — Consolidation. In the presence of damage or негерметичности replace

9 — the Nut, 10Нм. At first external nuts, an inhaling cross-wise are tightened internal, then
10 — Consolidations of a cover of a head of cylinders. In the presence of damage or негерметичности are replaced. Before installation transitions are condensed with hermetic AUDI «AMV 174 004 01».
11 — Consolidation. Necessarily replace
12 — the Combined valve of giving of secondary air, with a branch pipe
13 — the Bolt, 10Нм
14 — the Flange with the gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid
15 — the Bolt, 10Нм
16 — the Sealing ring. Necessarily replace

1 — the Sealing lining. Observe correct adjusting position. Necessarily replace

The general instructions are similar to petrol engine ALZ of 1.6 l. On illustrations petrol engine AVJ/BFB is represented. The design of the petrol engine of 2.0 l is similar.

Consolidation of places of interface of a cover of the double bearing/head of cylinders

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The engine of 1.8 l: Grease places specified by arrows on the top sealing surface of a head of cylinders with a hermetic small amount, for example, AMV 174 004 01.

Consolidation of places of interface of the mechanism of adjustment of camshafts and a head of cylinders

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The engine of 1.8 l: Grease the places specified by arrows on the top sealing surface of a head of cylinders with a hermetic small amount, for example, AMV 174 004 01.

Detachment of a cover of a head of cylinders

  1. Turn out nuts (arrows on an accompanying illustration) fastenings of a cover of a head of cylinders and uncover.

Tightening of bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders
