Removal and generator installation

The car is equipped by the alternating current generator. Depending on model and the equipment the car can be equipped with generators of various capacity.

If later on the car electric consumers of high capacity are established, it is necessary to check up, whether capacity of the established generator is sufficient. If necessary, it is possible to establish more powerful generator.

The alternating current developed by the generator is straightened in constant for what serves диодный the rectifier. The gymnastics of the storage battery occur a direct current. Generators are available on sale as exchange devices. Cost of the damaged generator is set off at purchase new or repaired.

At work with an electric equipment in an impellent compartment necessarily disconnect a negative cable (-) the storage battery.

  • Do not disconnect the storage battery or a pressure regulator at the working engine.
  • Do not remove the generator at the attached storage battery.
  • At carrying out of electrowelding works necessarily disconnect the storage battery.

The 4-cylinder petrol engine

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative cable (-) the storage battery.

Observe instructions Replacement of the storage battery Has undressed.

  1. Remove the top cover of the engine, address to Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the bottom protection of an impellent compartment/stretcher.
  2. Remove the bottom cover of the engine, address to Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the bottom protection of an impellent compartment/stretcher.
  3. Merge cooling liquid from a radiator, address to Section Replacement of a cooling liquid.
  4. Release a collar and remove a hose of a cooling liquid from a radiator branch pipe, over the generator.
  5. Turn away bolts of fastening and remove the management block over the radiator fan, put it aside.
  6. Loosen the клиновой a belt also remove it from a generator pulley, address to Section Removal and installation of a belt of a drive of auxiliary units.
  1. Depending on car model disunite a socket of the generator with (1) to (3).
  1. Turn out 4 screws of fastening (arrow) above and below and remove the generator from the engine.
  2. Disconnect a plug wire 30/in + from the generator.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fix a plug wire 30/in + the moment 16Нм and the generator to the engine the moment 23Нм.
  2. The further installation is carried out in sequence, return to removal.
  3. After installation start the engine and check up work клинового a belt.

The 4-cylinder diesel engine

Removal

  1. Disconnect a negative cable (-) the storage battery.

  1. Remove the top cover of the engine, address to Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the bottom protection of an impellent compartment/stretcher.
  2. Loosen the клиновой a belt also remove it from a generator pulley, address to Section Removal and installation of a belt of a drive of auxiliary units.
  1. Keeping a pulley of a drive of the fan with вязкостной муфтой a special key 3212 or KLANN KL-0149-131 from проворачивания, turn on its face key.

  2. Disunite a socket of the generator and disconnect a plug wire 30/in + from the generator.
  1. Turn out two bolts of fastening (arrow) and remove the generator from the engine.

Installation

  1. Fix the generator on the engine the moment 25Нм.
  2. Fix a wire of the plug 30 / + the moment 16Нм.
  3. Fix the fan with вязкостной муфтой on the bearing the moment 45Нм.
  4. The further installation is carried out in sequence, return to removal. After installation start the engine and check up work клинового a belt.

The 6-cylinder petrol engine

Removal

  1. Disconnect a negative cable (-) the storage battery.

Observe instructions Replacement of the storage battery Has undressed.

  1. Remove the top cover of the engine, address to Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the bottom protection of an impellent compartment/stretcher.
  2. Remove forward the bottom cover of the engine, address to Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the bottom protection of an impellent compartment/stretcher.
  3. Loosen the a tension клинового a belt also remove it from a generator pulley, address to Section Removal and installation of a belt of a drive of auxiliary units.
  4. Cut a collar of fastening of a cable and release a cable of a starter from the holder.
  5. Automatic transmission: Disconnect the holder of pipelines of a liquid for АТ.
  6. Disunite a socket of the generator and disconnect the plug 30/in + from the generator.
  1. Turn out two screws of fastening (an arrow on an accompanying illustration) and remove the generator from the engine.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fix the generator the moment 22Нм (screw M8) or 45Нм (screw M10) on the engine.
  2. Fix a plug wire 30/in + the moment 16Нм.
  3. The further installation is carried out in sequence, return to removal.
  4. After installation start the engine and check up work клинового a belt.

The 6-cylinder diesel engine

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative cable (-) the storage battery.

Observe instructions Replacement of the storage battery Has undressed.

  1. Remove the top cover of the engine, address to Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the bottom protection of an impellent compartment/stretcher.
  2. Remove the bottom cover of the engine forward, address to Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the bottom protection of an impellent compartment/stretcher.
  3. Establish the forward panel in service position, address to Section Installation of the forward panel in position for maintenance service.
  1. Disconnect the fan with вязкостной муфтой.
  1. Disconnect a cover of a gear belt ahead at the left and on the right.
  2. Disconnect a cover клинового a belt, pay attention thus to the remote plug.
  3. Remove клиновой a belt, address to Section Removal and installation of a belt of a drive of auxiliary units.
  4. Disunite a socket of the generator and disconnect a plug wire 30/in + from the generator.
  1. Turn away bolts of fastening (1) and (2) and disunite a socket of a hydrosupport of the engine.
  1. Remove the generator from the engine and take out it downwards.

Thus cautiously take aside pipelines of a cooling liquid.

Installation

  1. Fix the generator on the engine the moment 25Нм.
