- Protective covers of power shafts are very important elements since they protect hinges of equal angular speeds (SHRUS) from hit on them a dirt, water and other extraneous subjects causing damages. External pollution of protective covers by oil and greasings can lead to premature failure of a material of covers, therefore it is recommended to wash periodically covers with water with soap.
- Lift and establish the car on supports.
- Remove the bottom cover of an impellent compartment, address to Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the bottom protection of an impellent compartment/stretcher.

- Shine with a lamp protective covers (1) and check up them on presence of cracks. Pay attention to presence of traces of greasing on covers and near to them. In case of detection of signs of cracks or leak of greasing the cover should be replaced.

- If a cover will involve inside or has damage, it is necessary to replace it immediately.
- Check up reliability of fastening of collars (2).
- At the same time check up the general condition of hinges of equal angular speeds, holding a shaft and simultaneously trying to turn a wheel.
